Blanchard Grinding, technically referred to as a Rotory Surface Grinding that quickly remove stock from one or both sides of the part. Typically a part to large to be double-disc ground. Parts as large as 42" high and 100" from corner to opposite corner can be Blanchard Ground on our largest machine. Dimensional tolerances to + or -.001" parallelism to .001", and flatness to .005" or better depending on material and size are achievable on all are Blanchard Grinders. Significantly greater horsepower than other grinding methods, Blanchard Grinding removes large amounts of stock quickly and efficiently.

Blanchard Grinding is ideal for large parts such as rotary tables, mold plates, and vacuum chambers. Blanchard Grinding adds size versatility, eliminates mis-matches, are speeds turnaround time on a large parts when compared to fly-cutting. This method provide a considerable time saving over surface grinding as well. Using proprietary D.S. Greene vacuum chucks, even thin, hard to hold configurations can be Blanchard Ground. D.S. Greene is able to provide Blanchard Ground parts with surface finishes to 16 Ra.

Premachining cost and turnaround time can be reduced by simultaneously Blanchard Grinding multiple parts. Multiple part grinding, along with cutting a large Blanchard Ground blank into smaller parts, provides uniform part-to-part thickness tolerances and surface finishes at lower unit cost.
We offer 6-Blanchard Grinders that are in operation to grind sheet and plates as large as 42" high and 100" across corners, as well as heavy materials up to 5 tons. We service Rhode Island ( RI ), Massachusetts ( MA ), Connecticut ( CT ), and New Hampshire ( NH ).
